Feasibility and Facility Assessment Reports: the first step.

When creating a feasibility report for a client our first step is to visit and survey the space. In our case we will perform a 3D scan of the space that will assist with the assessment when we return to the office. Items outside of our scope, like electrical and mechanical items are typically provided by a consulting designer or engineer.

During this visit we will note the existing conditions of all related items and identify what items are fine as is, and what items need to be either repaired or replaced. Some of these items may also need to be removed depending on what the proposed scope of work is from the client.

Some items may also be affected by changes in the building code from the time when the space was constructed to the current version of the code. These items are identified with a note of what changes will be required in the new code.

After this assessment, all items are listed in an outline format to then be written into the final report.
