Working with Revit Linked Files after Insertion

Now that we've linked two Revit files together, what happens next?  In this video we look at the differences of how the two files relate to each when they are inserted by Project Base Point or By Shared Coordinates.  The key concept to understand here is if the two files do not share the Shared Coordinate System, the points (Project Base Point, Survey Point, Origin Point, and Shared Coordinate System) are independent of the same points in the linked file.  Once the Shared Coordinate System from one file is Shared, both files now have the same Shared Coordinate System, so if its edited in one file, it will change in the other one.

This video covers the differences between working with linked files when files are either inserted into each other using 'By Project Base Point' or 'By Shared Coordinates'.

This completes our first round of videos related to the Project File Points.  Here's the entire playlist for your convenience:

This series of videos covers the four project file points in a Revit project file. The four points are: the Origin Point, Shared Coordinate System, Project B...
