Revit - Survey Point and Project Base Point Explained

One major component (or two really) that I commonly see overlooked in a Revit project file is properly using the Survey Point and Project Base Point.  Two great posts from the Revit Kid (check him out at: www.therevitkid.com) explain how these points work.  See both posts here:

I did say there were two points above.  I say two because the survey and project base points are the only two you can see.  In reality there is actually four.  In addition to the Survey and Project Base Point, Revit has an internal 0,0,0 point, but you cannot move it. The last point is the Shared Coordinate System.  I think the SCS is the most critical because it is how all models on a project speak to each other.  Typically the survey point and SCS are at the same location, but they can be separated as shown in the image below.

This topic can get very confusing quickly so I'll stop for now.  I have a few ideas on some posts related to this topic, but I'd like to hear any input from anyone out there.  What are some questions or comments you have related to the point systems that Revit has?
